TikTok Ads to Data Studio: how to connect it, what it costs, and how to trust the conversion numbers
Getting TikTok Ads to Data Studio always means a partner connector, a Google Sheet fed on a schedule, a warehouse such as BigQuery, or manual exports, because Google ships no native TikTok connector. This guide is for marketing managers, founders and analysts who want TikTok spend and results in the same report as Google Ads, Meta and GA4. I compare the four routes with prices checked in October 2026, explain the attribution and time zone settings that make TikTok numbers drift, and show how to build a cross-channel view that holds up.

Quick answer
How do I connect TikTok Ads to Data Studio?
Data Studio has no native TikTok Ads connector, so you connect TikTok Ads to Data Studio through a partner connector such as Supermetrics, Windsor.ai or Coupler.io, a tool that writes TikTok data into a Google Sheet, a pipeline into BigQuery, or exported reports. A connector suits one or two ad accounts; a Sheet or warehouse suits several accounts and cross-channel reporting.
- Google has no native TikTok Ads connector, so every route runs through a third party or pipeline.
- Entry connector plans cost about $19 to $49 a month in October 2026, with free tiers for testing.
- TikTok defaults to 7-day click and 1-day view attribution, so it will not match GA4.
- TikTok Ad Network opened to US advertisers on 5 October 2026, so report placements separately.
Can you connect TikTok Ads to Data Studio for free?
Yes, for one ad account and light needs. The free routes are a connector vendor's free tier, a TikTok Ads Manager report exported to a Google Sheet by hand, or your own script against the TikTok Marketing API. What you give up is refresh, history, accounts or someone's time every week.
Data Studio's native connectors cover Google products and a set of databases: GA4, Google Ads, Search Console, Sheets, BigQuery, YouTube, Campaign Manager 360, Display and Video 360, Ad Manager, Cloud SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server and Redshift. TikTok is not on that list, and the April 2026 rename from Looker Studio back to Data Studio did not change that. TikTok data reaches a report either through a partner connector in the gallery or by landing somewhere Data Studio already reads.
The free tiers I checked on vendors' pricing pages in October 2026: Windsor.ai gives a 30-day trial (with a 30-day history limit) and then a forever free plan of 1 user, 1 data source and 1 account. Coupler.io's free plan covers 1 account, 1 destination, manual refresh and 100 rows per run. Both are fine for proving a layout. Neither will carry a year of daily ad-level data across several accounts.
What are the four ways to get TikTok Ads data into Data Studio?
Each route trades setup speed against freshness, cost and control. Choose based on how many TikTok ad accounts you report on, how much history you need, and whether TikTok must sit beside other channels in one table.
A partner connector appears in the Data Studio connector gallery and queries TikTok, or the vendor's stored copy, when charts load. Supermetrics, Windsor.ai, Power My Analytics, Funnel and Coupler.io all publish TikTok Ads integrations for Data Studio; Windsor.ai lists 801 TikTok metrics and 149 dimensions on its integration page. A Sheets route writes campaign, ad group and ad rows into a Google Sheet on a schedule. A warehouse route loads TikTok into BigQuery and Data Studio reads tables or views from there. A manual route means exporting a custom report from TikTok Ads Manager and pasting it into a sheet.
| Route | Setup effort | Freshness | Best for | Main drawback |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Partner connector | Under an hour | Near live, within vendor and Data Studio caching | One or two ad accounts, a standard TikTok performance report | The vendor's field names and plan limits decide what you can build; cost rises with accounts and sources |
| Sheets route | An hour or two | Scheduled: daily on entry plans, hourly on higher ones | Small advertisers, adding targets or budgets beside TikTok rows | Sheets slows as ad-level daily rows pile up, and an edited tab can break charts |
| Warehouse (BigQuery) | Days, including modelling | Hourly to daily | Several ad accounts, multi-year history, one cross-channel spend table | Needs a Google Cloud project and someone to own SQL views |
| Manual export | Minutes each time | Only when someone exports | A one-off campaign recap | Stale on save, and numbers shift as late conversions arrive |
How much does a TikTok Ads connector for Data Studio cost?
Entry plans run from free to $49 a month, and the bill grows with the number of ad accounts, the other sources on the same plan and how often data refreshes. The figures below come from each vendor's pricing page, read in October 2026. None of the top-ranking TikTok and Data Studio guides I reviewed shows a price, and vendors change plans often, so confirm before you commit to an annual term.
Price the plan you will need in a year, not today. A brand running TikTok, Meta, Google Ads and GA4 needs four sources, which already rules out a 2-source or 3-source tier. Count ad accounts per source too: an agency with six clients on TikTok outgrows 2 accounts per source on day one.
| Option | Free option | Paid pricing (October 2026) | What limits you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supermetrics | No free plan listed | Starter $49 per month, or $39 billed annually; Growth $199, or $159 billed annually; Enterprise on quote | Starter: 2 sources, 2 accounts per source, 1 user. Growth: 7 sources, 7 accounts per source, 2 users |
| Windsor.ai | Forever free: 1 user, 1 source, 1 account | Basic $23 per month, or $19 billed annually; Standard $118, or $99 billed annually; Plus $299, or $249 billed annually | Basic: 3 sources, daily refresh. Standard: 7 sources, hourly refresh. Plus: 10 sources |
| Coupler.io | Free: 1 account, manual refresh, 100 rows per run | Starter $32 per month, or $24 billed annually; Active $132, or $99 billed annually; Pro $259, or $199 billed annually | Starter: 3 accounts, daily, 5,000 rows per run. Active: 15 accounts, daily. Pro: 50 accounts, hourly |
| Your own script on the TikTok Marketing API | No licence fee | Your build and maintenance time, plus Google Cloud costs if you land data in BigQuery | You handle authentication, token refresh, pagination and backfills yourself |
Why don't TikTok Ads conversions match GA4 in Data Studio?
Because the two systems count different things on purpose. TikTok credits itself for conversions after a click or a view of its ads, while GA4 credits sessions using its own attribution model and the UTM parameters and cookies it can see. Put both in one table and TikTok will almost always claim more.
TikTok Pixel and Events API advertisers default to a 7-day click and 1-day view attribution window, and Attribution Manager lets you set click windows from 1 to 28 days and view windows from off to 7 days. TikTok's help centre also notes that Ads Manager reports conversions on the day of the ad interaction, not the day of the purchase, that event data can take up to 2 hours to process, and that TikTok matches users with signals such as email, phone number and IP, where Google Analytics relies on cookies and UTMs.
A worked example makes the gap concrete. Say a viewer sees your ad on Monday 6 October without clicking, then searches your brand on Wednesday and buys for $120. TikTok counts a view-through conversion and books the $120 on Monday. GA4 sees an organic or paid search session on Wednesday and credits that channel. Now say another person clicks a TikTok ad on 30 September and buys on 2 October: TikTok books it in September, GA4 in October. Neither tool is wrong. A month-end report that puts both columns side by side, unlabelled, will start an argument instead of a decision.
- Label every conversion metric with its source: "TikTok-reported purchases" and "GA4 purchases from TikTok sessions".
- Write the attribution window on the page, for example "TikTok: 7-day click, 1-day view".
- Use the same window when comparing periods; changing it in Attribution Manager changes history in your report.
- Check UTMs on every TikTok ad so GA4 can see the source as tiktok and the medium as paid social.
- Reload the last 3 to 7 days on each scheduled sync, because late conversions keep landing on earlier dates.
Which TikTok account settings break a Data Studio report?
Time zone and currency, mostly. TikTok says the ad account's time zone, region and currency cannot be edited once the account is created, and the time zone decides which day spend and results fall on in reports.
That matters the moment TikTok sits next to other channels. If your TikTok account runs on Singapore time, your Google Ads account on New York time and GA4 on London time, a 'yesterday' filter covers three different 24-hour windows. Daily charts look noisy and weekly totals disagree with each platform's own screen. The fix is to decide on one reporting day, keep each platform's native dates for reconciliation, and note the offset on the page. If the accounts bill in different currencies, convert to one reporting currency in a Sheet or BigQuery view with a dated exchange rate table, rather than in a chart-level calculated field nobody can audit.
Does TikTok Ad Network change your TikTok Ads report?
It can. TikTok opened TikTok Ad Network, the rebranded Pangle network of almost 400,000 third-party apps, to US advertisers at Advertising Week New York on 5 October 2026. It runs inside the existing Ads Manager, so a campaign can quietly spend outside TikTok itself.
For reporting, that means a blended CPA can move because of placement mix rather than creative or audience. Coverage of the launch notes that placements cannot be changed after an ad group is created and that advertisers can exclude up to 10,000 apps by bundle ID. If your connector exposes a placement dimension, add it as a breakdown and a filter control, and track spend share by placement week by week. If it does not, ask the vendor before you buy, because placement is one of the first questions a paid social lead will ask after this change.
What should a TikTok Ads dashboard in Data Studio include?
Build it around three questions: is TikTok spend producing results at an acceptable cost, which creatives are carrying it, and how does it compare with the other channels. A first version fits on three pages.
Page one is performance: spend, impressions, clicks, CTR, conversions, cost per result and ROAS by day and week, against target, with scorecards that compare to the previous period. Page two is creative: a table by ad with thumbnails where the connector supplies them, video views, 2-second and 6-second view rates if your connector exposes them, and cost per result, sorted so fatigue is visible. Page three is cross-channel: TikTok beside Google Ads and Meta on spend, platform-reported conversions and GA4-attributed conversions, clearly labelled.
Use a CASE statement in a calculated field to group campaign names into objectives or funnel stages, a parameter for target CPA so managers can test thresholds, and owner's credentials on the data source so clients and executives can view without TikTok access. Fixed-schema connectors cap a table at 10 dimensions and 20 metrics, so very wide creative tables are easier from a Sheet or BigQuery, which allow 100 of each.
How do you combine TikTok with Google Ads, Meta and GA4 in one report?
For a simple monthly view, blend on date. For anything you will rely on, build one table with the same columns for every channel and report from that.
Data Studio blends hold up to 5 sources and use equality joins only. TikTok, Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn and GA4 already fill that, and each blend lives in one report, so every new page or client copy repeats the work. Blended charts also slow down, and GA4 Data API quotas (14,000 tokens per project per property per hour on standard properties) start to bite when many charts query GA4 at once.
The sturdier pattern is a unified spend table in BigQuery or a Sheet with columns such as date, channel, account, campaign, objective, spend, impressions, clicks and platform conversions. Each connector or pipeline appends its rows in that shape, and GA4 data joins on date, channel and campaign. Data Studio then reads one source, filters work across channels, and adding a sixth platform is a new loader, not a rebuild. The marketing dashboards from projects I've led at Greenwolf Tech Labs follow this idea: multi-channel spend, leads and return across Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, GA4 and Search Console in one view.
How do you connect TikTok Ads to Data Studio step by step?
The clicks take minutes. The steps that keep the report trusted after the first month are about access, definitions and reconciliation.
Data Studio gives no warning when a connector breaks. If the TikTok authorisation belongs to a freelancer or a staff member who later leaves the Business Center, charts go blank with no alert, so connect from a login the business controls and glance at the report each Monday.
- Agree definitions: list each number leadership reviews, such as purchases, cost per purchase and ROAS, and state the attribution window behind it.
- Choose the route: a partner connector for one or two accounts, a Sheet for small budgets with targets, BigQuery for several accounts or cross-channel reporting.
- Authorise from a business-owned TikTok For Business login with access to every ad account in scope.
- Pull daily rows at ad level with campaign, ad group, ad, placement and objective, so any chart can roll up without a second source.
- Backfill history in one controlled load, then schedule incremental syncs that reload the last few days.
- Reconcile last week's spend and conversions to TikTok Ads Manager in the account's own time zone, to the cent for spend.
- Schedule an email delivery of the report for Monday morning.
When is TikTok Ads to Data Studio not worth it?
If TikTok is your only paid channel and everyone who reads the numbers already uses TikTok Ads Manager, its own reporting may be enough. Moving TikTok Ads to Data Studio adds a subscription, a mapping and one more thing to maintain.
Good reasons to do it: TikTok must be judged beside Google Ads, Meta and GA4; executives or clients should see results without Ads Manager access; you manage several ad accounts; or you need history and targets that Ads Manager does not keep in one place. Weak reasons: a nicer chart style, or rebuilding a TikTok report that already answers the question.
Do it yourself if you have one account, a free or entry connector and someone comfortable with calculated fields. Bring in help when spend will not tie to Ads Manager, when several accounts, currencies or time zones are involved, or when the report has to survive the person who built it leaving.
How I handle TikTok Ads to Data Studio projects
I start with a free review of your TikTok setup, the other channels in play, the connector you already pay for and the questions the report must answer. I recommend the cheapest route that will hold up, often a connector plan you already have, and quote a fixed price for the build.
The work covers attribution labelling, time zone and currency handling, a unified channel table where it is needed, the dashboard, a reconciliation of spend to Ads Manager for a recent week, and a handover so your team can add campaigns and pages without me. Everything sits in your Google and TikTok accounts from day one, so nothing depends on my logins.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does Data Studio have a native TikTok Ads connector?
No. Data Studio's native connectors cover Google products such as GA4, Google Ads and Search Console, plus Sheets, BigQuery and several SQL databases. TikTok Ads data needs a partner connector, a Sheets route, a warehouse pipeline or exported reports.
Is there a free TikTok Ads connector for Looker Studio?
Looker Studio is called Data Studio again, and free options exist. Windsor.ai's forever free plan covers 1 data source and 1 account, and Coupler.io's free plan allows 1 account with manual refresh and 100 rows per run. Both suit testing more than ongoing reporting.
Why are TikTok conversions higher than GA4?
TikTok counts conversions after a click or a view of its ads, by default within 7 days of a click or 1 day of a view, and books them on the day of the ad interaction. GA4 credits sessions it can see through cookies and UTMs. Label both in your report rather than trying to force them to match.
How often does TikTok Ads data refresh in Data Studio?
It depends on the route and plan. Partner connectors query near live within caching, while scheduled tools refresh daily on entry plans and hourly on higher ones. TikTok also says event data can take up to 2 hours to process, and late conversions keep updating recent days.
Can I see TikTok Ad Network placements in Data Studio?
Only if your connector exposes a placement dimension. TikTok Ad Network opened to US advertisers on 5 October 2026 and runs inside Ads Manager, so check placement support before buying and add it as a breakdown and filter.
Can I combine TikTok Ads with Meta and Google Ads in one Data Studio report?
Yes. A blend on date works for simple views, but blends are limited to 5 sources with equality joins. For a dependable cross-channel report, load each platform into one Sheet or BigQuery table with matching columns and report from that.
Why do TikTok daily numbers differ from my other channels?
Usually time zones. TikTok fixes an ad account's time zone and currency at creation, and that time zone decides which day results fall on. If other accounts use different time zones, daily totals will not line up, so pick one reporting day and note the offset.
